about joseph
Joseph is a queer-identifying, early-career contemporary dance artist and choreographer from the North of England. Joseph grew his passion for movement through the need for creativity and self-expression. He is interested in fusing different disciplines together to transform movement into his own language to communicate and connect with others.

He recently graduated from Northern School of Contemporary Dance where he worked with and performed original and restaged works by Jasmin Vardimon Company, Jamaal Burkmar, Sir Robert Cohan CBE, Thanh-Tu ‘Sattva’ Nguyen & Dr Joseph Mercier. He also had the opportunity to work closely with Phoenix Dance Theatre as an apprentice role on their creation of ‘Susanna’ in collaboration with Opera North.
He trained at international dance institutions such as b12 research or die and Orsolina28 where he worked with Evelien Jansen & Pau Aran Gimeno as well as performing a new work by FLOCK. He also made his professional debut touring ‘Britney in Wonderland’ and ‘POPODYSSEY’ productions with Glitterbomb Dancers around the UK.
Joseph’s artistic direction is grounded in multidisciplinary inquiry, where movement intersects with sound, visual practices, and embodied exploration. Dance operates as a meditative experience that softens the sense of time and heightens awareness of sensation and internal rhythms. Through improvisation, and deep bodily listening, movement becomes an act of contemplation. This meditative framework allows dance to connect inner states with outward expressions, shaping motion into a subtle dialogue between body, mind, and the space around it.
